Harris County Animal Cruelty Taskforce

In 2018, Jen the Vet, as owner of Animal ER of Northwest Houston, proudly joined area law enforcement and investigative agencies along with the Harris County Animal Shelter to become a founding partner of the Harris County Animal Cruelty Taskforce. Until relocation to Alaska in 2024, Dr Jen's role focused on facilitating the ethical medical needs of animals seized from situations of animal abuse or neglect, as well as assisting animal cruelty case investigations with veterinary forensic services.

Animal Cruelty Service Award Recipient

In 2019, the National Animal Care & Control Association awarded Dr Jen with the Diane Lane Memorial Award for her contributions and dedication as the first response facility for the Harris County Animal Cruelty Taskforce and for her assistance with veterinary expertise in animal cruelty cases.
